Located on the eastern end of Long Island and just off the Long Island Expressway, the Yaphank Fire Department serves a diverse response area that required a rescue vehicle capable to serving multiple tasks from a single apparatus. They selected Hackney due to its unique drop/pinch frame that increased the storage capacity without increasing wheelbase and overall height and made storage and retrieval of equipment simple and fast to deploy. Low-profile design permits 72" high compartments for increased storage capacity without exceeding overall height restrictions. Safety rails are shown at entrance to roof storage area complimenting the sliding ladder. Fold-down auxiliary step platforms facilitate access to upper storage areas. Upper side body fixed and removable tripod flood lights supplement the 12vdc LED flood lights. A Command Light tower with six FRC flood lights in installed on the forward recessed roof.
